For Sale: 1969 Eldon Billy Blastoff Firefighter Set, 8 Piece in Original BoxModel 7-35-251 USA/Canada Version The box is damaged along the front, sides and back and has one torn off side-flap. This is the rarer second version of the box with “Billy Blastoff” in small lettering and “Fire Fighter Set” in a much larger font. Interest in Billy Blastoff waned after the moon landing in 1969, so Eldon noticing this trend, emphasized “Fire Fighter Set” in an attempt to attract more interest. Includes white cardboard “sleeve” which has a few small tears, but is very clean on all sides. This set is COMPLETE (NO Manual!) , all items look unused to lightly used: Includes all three trucks: Ladder truck, hoist truck and Fire Chief’s car. The Fire Chief has a missing (broken) windshield, is missing the front passenger wheel, red wheel holder (axle) and screw.all of these parts are interchangeable with the the fire truck so these broken/missing parts can be re-created. One fire truck is missing the underside rear pull out u-shaped bar (not sure what it’s function is?) and has a little paint wear around the bottom metal plate (as shown). The other fire truck has a small scratch on the underside painted red metal plate. The firetruck extendable bucket is not attached to the ladder truck, i am not sure if it originally came that way.One of the three white clips that secure it to the ladder truck is snapped off, but included (as shown) Billy Blastoff is in very clean condition and is fully working as shown!His jet pack battery compartment is exceptionally clean with no evidence of battery corrosion.The battery cover is complete with both side holding clips (very delicate piece) – intentionally left off in pictures and video so I wouldn’t accidentally snap the holding clips putting it on and taking it off mutliple times. Billy Blastoff’s fire chief helmet, two lengths of hose and two ladders are all complete and still sealed in the original plastic bag with two staples! The accessory bag even has the original (white) rubberband holding it on the white cardboard sleeve. Billy Blastoff is fully working, the motor works and his hand held search light lights up! Billy does make the trucks move intermittently, I may not have been pushing Billy down far enough, but being over 50 years old and in pristine condition, I didn’t want to accidentally damage anything.
