A lovely oil paint and varnish doll attributed to the Martha Chase Doll Co, Pawtucket, R.I. circa 1940’s – 1950’s, according to the estate. The original paper tags have been lost through the years and the doll does not bear a maker’s mark. This doll is in excellent condition considering the age but does have some wear at the joints (shoulders & legs) so view all photos carefully. This doll was on display in an open cabinet and periodically cleaned. This doll was obtained from an estate of the original owner. It was given to her when she was in her youth. There are no holes, no tears and no repairs or repainting found on the body. The dolls outfit is a lovely vintage baby gown in sheer batiste with lace edging, an undergown of satin with lace edging, a matching lace edged cap and knitted booties with tassels and a matching diaper cover. The outfit is vintage and not original to the doll. This is a wonderful vintage doll of early American History and worthy of display in a serious collection.
