eBay GERANIUM Botanical Name: (Pelargonium X Asperum) Description: Geranium is a hairy perennial shrub, often used in hedgerows, and stands up to about one meter high (3 feet) with pointed leaves, serrated at the edges and has pinkish-white flowers. The leaves and stalks are used for extraction, and the oil is obtained through steam distillation. Color: Pale yellow to greenish yellow liquid Common Uses: Geranium Essential Oil is well known for its skincare properties. It can be used to even out oily or combination skin complexions and is said to nourish and re-hydrate dry and mature skin. Geranium Egyptian can also be used to calm irritability, relax the mind and ease cases of insomnia. The strong smell of this oil is particularly good to ward off mosquitoes and head lice. Blends well with: Angelica, Basil, Bergamot, Citronella, Clary Sage, Fennel, Grapefruit, Jasmine, Juniper, Lavender, Lemon, Lemongrass, Lime, Neroli, Orange and Rosemary. Aromatic Scent: Geranium Essential Oil has a scent that is both sweet and herbaceous, while carrying some subtle notes similar in character to Rose. History: There are over 200 species of geranium, some scented and some not. The plants originated from South Africa as well as Reunion, Madagascar, Egypt and Morocco. They were introduced to European countries such as Italy, Spain and France in the 114th century. In early times geraniums were planted around the house to help keep evil sprits at bay. Cautions: Geranium Oil is non-toxic, non-irritant and generally non-sensitizing. Diffusing – the oil in a Diffuser scents your home or office with wonderful uplifting smell. The most common Diffuser on the market in the Tea Lite Oil burner. Bath – Add a few drops of oil to your running bath water and mix well before getting into the tub. Enjoy a wonderful scented bath soak! Massage – Create your own Massage oil scent simply add a few drops oil to 1 ounce carrier oil such as Grapeseed oil and massage onto yourself or partner. Keep away from eyes and genital areas. Product Scenting – Create your own scented products by adding oils to un-scented base products like; Hair Shampoo & Conditioners Base, Hand Soap Base, Body Lotion Base, Room Spray Base, Moisturizing Body Gel Base, Reed Diffuser Base, Melt & Pour or Cold Press Soap making, Safety Tips: Keep out of reach of children and pets. Keep oils away from eyes and mucous membranes. Always dilute essential oils with carrier oils before applying them directly to your skin. Stop using oil immediately if redness, burning, itching or irritation occurs. A test area such as the inside of your elbow can be used to determine if you are allergic to the oil. Simply apply a small amount of the diluted oil and wait 12 hours to determine if irritation has occurred. Please be aware that all oils are not suitable for all uses.
