Italian Murano Art Glass Faceted Sommerso Vase Vintage Modernist Original Label Description and Item Information Up for sale is this stunning, vintage Murano art glass vase. Please excuse the glare in the photos. This sommerso vase is cased glass in three colors: green, golden yellow, and clear cristallo glass. This modernist vase has flat, polished sides which give it a faceted appearance. The piece stands approximately 6 3/8 inches tall; it is about 2 3/4 inches long and 2 1/2 inches wide. Unpacked, it weighs 1 pound 5.8 ounces. This would be a fine addition to a collection of Venetian art glass, or it would look superb in a mid-century modern decor. Identification This piece is unsigned Murano art glass by an unknown maker, possibly Mandruzzato. The exact age is not known, but it is vintage. The vase retains its original blue label which says, “MURANO MADE IN ITALY.” Condition The vase looks great overall, with no cracks or post-production chips. There are a few tiny grinding fleabites to the interior rim of the hole at the top of the vase. There are a few fine scratches to the polished base. The label has light wear.
