This listing is for a rare early 60s complete Ginny #18440 ensemble in its original box. The outfit as found in the box included only the red smock with felt dog appliqué, the detachable white vinyl collar, the checked pants and a matching headscarf. I added a pair of Ginny bow shoes and a hanger to complete the set. All of the clothing pieces are in excellent, very crisp and bright condition. All fasteners are secure and the elastic at the waist of the pants is still stretchy. I’m amazed the sweet little collar was still in the box. This outfit is so cute!!! The smock has a fabric tag with dark blue script (1957-1965). The 4-3/4″ x 6-1/4″ box is not in perfect condition but still displays nicely. It has yellowed a bit with age, the cello has a couple of small ‘dents’ but no tears, and one corner was crushed and repaired (see photo). The only reference I could find for this stock number is in the 1961 price list on page 126 of The Ginny Doll Encyclopedia. Please feel free to contact me with questions. You may have purchased Barbie items from me in the past and know that I offer very nice quality items and am as accurate as possible in my descriptions. Identification of Barbie items is generally fairly easy and there are lots of references available but not so with these dolls. So many variations, changing stock numbers and items not identified in the reference books. Plus, the Ginny catalogs are in black & white which creates even more challenges. I will do my best to provide accurate descriptions but please forgive me for any errors and feel free to contact me with corrections or new information.
