This listing is for one bud/pup, as shown in the second photo. Photo was taken October 27, 2024, with a quarter to show size. Only the 8 large ones are for sale; others are too small and not rooted yet. This is a plant you cannot get anywhere else! This is a hybrid of the two plants shown in the third photo—a tall Dimit Echinopsis/Lobivia hybrid “Yes” cactus with magenta flowers and long spines, and a wide non-hybrid Echinopsis eyriesii cactus with tiny spines. I cross-pollintated these two plants in September of 2019 and planted the seeds in March of 2020. At the end of one year, March 2021, I had 14 viable seedlings each about the size of a garbanzo bean. You can see all of them in the photos in the white pots (they are NOT for sale). As of now, several of them have bloomed, producing different shades of pink flowers, varying from a medium pink with light highlights to pale to a salmon color. But there is no way to know what the others will look like! EACH IS UNIQUE. But these seedlings are now producing pups, and that is what you have the opportunity to buy here! I call these Echinopsis “crista” because they are my unique hybrid and that’s my name. It was a huge amount of work to get those 14 seedlings to survive. I DO NOT KNOW what all the other flowers will look like. And each one is unique, so they will probably not look the same. Some have short spines, some have longer spines, and exact flower color varies (see pics). But this little pup should be ready to bloom in 2 years, if you give it the right care! I will send you a care sheet after your purchase. I have shipped thousands of cactus plants, to every state and in all seasons, including to Minnesota in the dead of winter. Never had a problem with them, including the time a buyer forgot to check her PO Box for a month and the plant was fine, just waiting in the box. These pups are beautiful and bright green with excellent roots. Unlike some other cactus pups listed on eBay that you may see, these are not growing smashed together so that they are misshapen—they are bright emerald green, perfect, have gotten plenty of water, fertilizer, and love, and will be packed with care so they arrive perfect. Place yours in a warm sunny, south-facing window and it will grow well–including through the fall and winter, and then be ready to grow to the size of a mini pumpkin by the end of next summer! To grow, they like to be at about 69 degrees or warmer. When your night temps warm up over 45 you can keep it outside, or set it out on warm days and bring it in at night. With proper care it will grow large enough to bloom in about 2 years. These Echinopsis Easter Lily Cactus are native to areas in Brazil, Argentina, and Bolivia. The original plant, about the size of a plum, was given to me in 1968. Since then I have carried it with me when I have moved to various cities, and it has grown and multiplied. My plants were even featured in the garden section of the Los Angeles Times a few years ago. Your cactus can bloom when it is about the size of an orange, if you give it the right care, which mostly includes plenty of direct sunlight, and the right amount of water, and a little fertilizer. I will send you a care sheet so your plant can grow, bloom, and multiply like mine! With plenty of sun, these cactus plants will bloom from April into October. I bring my plants inside for the winter around mid-October, and keep them in a sunny window until around mid-May when I put them outside again. The plants grow very quickly from April to October and then slow down. Very easy to care for, and you can go on vacation for several weeks and not have to worry about them!
